Microsoft has plans to allow PC makers to offer customers who buy Windows Vista machines as of July 1 free upgrades to Windows 7 once it ships. Windows Vista PCs must be purchased by end users … between July 1, 2009 through TBD (to be determined)” to qualify for the Windows 7 Tech Guarantee program. OEMs may choose to offer a shorter program period within the allowed date range.

One of the most obvious changes you’ll see when you first boot into Windows 7 is the new taskbar dubbed the “superbar”. Most people like it, some don’t, but I think overall its a large improvement over that little strip of screen real estate which has not had a major renovation since Windows XP. For some users, one hurdle of the new “superbar” is its enormous size, or so it appears. To set the record straight, Long Zheng conducted a little side-by-side experiment with two quick-launch items and two active applications on both Vista and Windows 7.

Aero Peek is one of the new features of Windows 7 which supercharges Windows 7 superbar and lets you to view, close and switch between multiple application by just hovering over the Taskbar thumbnail. GeeQ spent quite few hours of searching and coding then only he could come up with AeroPeek for Vista.

Small program that adds various window effects that can be adjusted by user. It includes transparency effects with fading, transparency change of active and non-active window, transparency change on mouse leave, taskbar and start menu transparency, contrast screen, jelly effects, window kinetics while moving, window bouncing, window resilience, snow, shimmering and much more. In this version three new effects have been added.
